The cultural arts palate of Oriental, NC and Pamlico County is one mixed with an active theatre troupe, music, crafts, pottery and painting. There are spring and fall concerts; the Friday Flicks in The Old Theater and the local Repertory Theater Group, along with the fine arts series keep locals and visitors coming back every month. Local shows celebrating town or area history, festivals in praise of fish and fossils, the Pamlico Chorale entertaining several times each year, and various art shows fill county calendars. Traditional culture is on display and for sale in many restaurants, galleries and shops offering paintings, photographs, pottery and local crafts.
