Registration begins at 5 p.m. Harborfest for HeartWorks will kick off at 5:30 p.m. Friday with a casual feast from Roland's Barbecue followed by the feel-good tunes and dancing under the stars. Racing will begin Saturday morning. At the River Dunes Amphitheater, a Corvette car show, live music, and outdoor fun will be on tap for free from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. while food and drink vendors will be selling their wares. Harborfest wraps up Saturday night with a Gala Dinner Dance beginning at 5:30 p.m. This elegant affair will feature a silent auction and a gourmet dinner catered by acclaimed New Bern restaurant, The Chelsea. Sunday morning the serious racers will round the buoys a few more times before calling it a day. Fundraising efforts will benefit the Bill Harris Scholarship Fund, which is awarded annually to Pamlico County students who letter in at least one sport and are of good character.
