Being somewhat isolated, small and on the water, Oriental, NC and surrounding Pamlico County are home to attractions inspired by a buzzing community of sailors, artists, wine lovers and history buffs. Those looking to step back to a time that existed before boat engines and beyond mankind can find fossils in Aurora, sailing lessons in Oriental and camping the unspoiled Croatan National Forest.
